The Revelairs story:

rev rec.jpg

The Revelairs were born in the water. Bill Humphrey and Mark Stotesbury had been on plenty of surfing expeditions together.  After one long session in their hometown of Manhattan Beach, they amused themselves in the echoladen washroom  singing Doo-Wop tunes and discussing music in general.  Until that day, Bill had no idea that Mark played the Guitar, and it was news to Mark to discover that Bill was a Drummer.  They got together a few times and formed a duo to play at the local Moose Hall one evening.

Bill Humphrey States: "I got interested in Guitar bassed instrumental music after hearing the likes of Johnny and the Hurricanes, the Fireballs, and of course the Ventures.  When I first heard *Walk don't Run* with the Drum solo beginning that really got me going.  But it is when I noticed that all the great Surf movies of the time used this music as the backdrop to the films narration, and hearing the local band the Vibrants at a dance at  Live Oak Park in Manhattan, that Mark and I got serious of forming a band".  To be continued................
